Volume versus Bulk

Once, the postmen were on foot or by bicycle (and they were all men then), and they delivered letters and cards by the millions.  These days, our communication is all electronic, emails, and social media, and the mail volumes have drastically dropped as a result. However, we also do a lot of our shopping online through websites or emails, and what we buy still needs to be delivered. While there is now competition in the parcel delivery market, the ordinary postie now has more packages than letters to deliver, so those delivering by foot or bicycle have also had to adapt. How’s this for a modified cycle, electric power assist and a large enclosed compartment on the back instead of a bag over the handlebars? This example is from Bordeaux in France.
