Today we sit and type away on our electronic device and a few seconds later our message has got to the person we are sending to. They may not see or read it straight away but technical progress has made quick messaging a reality.

Go back 100 years or so and another advance called the aeroplane was in it’s infancy. As those machines were developed and could fly further and longer, so the options for getting letters around quicker also became options. Airmail it was called. Our Patron, Robert Duns, will be showing and talking about his exhibit which features letters posted by the every developing air routes heading to New Zealand.

Continual adding and updating material has meant his recent exhibit is continuing to change and most recently updated and exhibited in August at the Brisbane show. The October meeting will be our opportunity to see new material and hear about this topic.
