Well known Christchurch collector Jack Richards produced a lot of material over his years. He published the Jayrich Bulletin throughout the 1950’s, promoting postal history and was a great producer of covers.
In 1964 he produced a cover consisting solely of text to mark the introduction of a “Comac” letter franking machine in the Christchurch Post Office. The cover obviously used the machine to get it’s red 3d imprint and was postmarked at the Christchurch Delivery Counter. Each of the covers were number on the back flap.
A collector has enquired if we know how many covers Richard’s produced, and if that is not known is keen to know what cover numbers are around in peoples collections. Nothing in our library gives us that information so please if you read this and have one of these covers, we’ve love to hear what number is on the back.
